Leadership Workshop - Business Innovation – Value Migration and Appropriation

Plugin Alliance hosted its inaugural Exclusive Leadership Workshop, in collaboration with the esteemed Indian School of Business. This landmark event was facilitated by Prof. Rajendra Srivastava, former Dean and Novartis Professor of Marketing Strategy and Innovation at the Indian School of Business. Prof. Srivastava, who also serves as Executive Director of the ISB Center for Business Innovation and the Executive Fellows Programme in Management, brought a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the workshop, setting the stage for a highly impactful session.

The Exclusive Leadership Workshop, titled “Business Innovation – Value Migration and Appropriation,” focused on how large enterprises can harness their market-based assets to drive innovation at the firm level, encompassing product development, processes, and ecosystem networks. The workshop delved into strategies for enhancing shareholder value and improving business performance in terms of growth, profitability, and resilience. Participants also gained insights into measuring innovation investments. The session concluded with a Leader’s Learning Table, fostering a collaborative discussion among attendees to capture and assimilate actionable learnings, ensuring that the insights gained could be effectively applied within their organizations.

The pivotal outcomes of the session included a deepened understanding of innovation strategies, actionable insights on improving business performance.


During the Leader's Learning Table, participants explored many facets of the workshop by discussing lived experiences and examples -

  1. Innovation in the Indian Business Landscape: Analysed the distinctive challenges and opportunities inherent in India's market and regulatory environment, with a focus on emerging technologies and successful innovation models.
  1. Innovation Assessment Driving Business Success: Examined methodologies for assessing the impact of innovation on business performance and discussed strategic approaches for internal and external communication.

  2. Communication Strategies: Evaluated best practices for articulating innovation achievements within organizations to ensure recognition and alignment, and externally to enhance brand reputation and engage stakeholders.
